Katherine Heigl reveals her experiences within a "white bubble" affected the way she raised her family of multiracial origins. In an interview with her, Katherine Heigl said in the past that with regards to the color of her skin, it doesn't really matter. But after speaking to her sister, who was adopted in South Korea she realized just the different ways society treats people of different races. Meg was asked whether the way she was treated differed in the times they went out with their parents or in the case of going out on their own. She said, 'Oh, yes, every all the time! That made me realize that I was so ignorant," Heigl said to her parents. According to the actor she was furious. But, she was determined to channel her anger into helping the girls she adopted. Heigl has a four year old son and a 13-year-old wife, Josh Kelley. The couple took in Nancy Leigh (age 12) from South Korea and Adalaide (age 8), who is black, in 2009.
