Julia Fiona Roberts, born 28th October 1967 at Atlanta with Betty Lou Bredemus & Walter Grady Roberts. Her great-grandfather John Pendleton Roberts, a farmer, was one of the first Roberts to arrive in Atlanta. She inherited her father's interest in theatre from an early time. As in school at Emory University in 1952 he acted in productions on campus as well as in other parts of Atlanta. In 1953, he enlisted in the Air Force, and was stationed at Biloxi in Mississippi, he appeared in a production that he performed in with Betty Lou Bredemus. In 1955, the couple married and in 1956 their child Eric Anthony was born. In 1957, the couple quit the air force and Walter enrolled at Tulane University in New Orleans Louisiana. Walter worked for Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio. In 1960, the couple moved to Decatur Georgia. The year 1964 was when Walter along with Betty Lou began production on the local Saturday morning children's television show named Bum Bum and His Buddies that they funded themselves. The Actors and Writers Workshop was created in the year 1964 and ran for six years. They welcomed in 1965 two more children into their lives: Lelisa Billingsley and Julia Billingsley.
